Newsletter volunteer

About the role

Every month we publish a community newsletter. It’s a way for all of our community members to keep connected with what’s happening here at Likewise and a way for our clients to share their creative talents, whether that be writing, photography, art or stories. You might be involved in:

  • Creating and collecting materials to include in the newsletter.
  • Editing and designing the newsletter for print, using Adobe InDesign.

About you

An eye for creativity and writing will serve you well as a Newsletter volunteer. If you’ve got experience using Adobe InDesign this is definitely a plus, but it’s not essential. As long as you’ve got a good foundation in computer skills we’ll be able to show you the rest.

Commitment

A couple of hours a week, which you could do here in the office or from home (we’ll just need to get InDesign on your home computer). This can be flexible around your working schedule – with the bit of odd contact from our Community Lead in normal working hours to make sure you’re on the same page.

Support and Learning

You’ll receive support from our Community Lead to get familiar with the creative process and to design it on an ongoing basis. As with all our volunteer opportunities, you’ll also have access to a range of free, formal training opportunities including Mental Health First Aid, The Care Certificate and First Aid.

We are not taking on volunteers at this time

In light of Covid-19, our community wellbeing centre is closed until we feel we are able to re-open safely. Unfortunately this means that we are not taking on volunteers at this time. However we encourage you to return to our website in a few months time to see if any changes have been made.
